Use the quick video guides to navigate great museums of the world. The system uses Google Street View technology to allow you to walk around and browse museums, walk up to an exhibit and examine it as closely as you like (zoom in on Van Gogh's brush strokes), create art collections to share with students and colleagues.

Explore museums from around the world, discover and view hundreds of artworks at incredible zoom levels, and even create and share your own collection of masterpieces. Simply select a museum from the homepage and then either chose ‘Explore the museum’ or ‘View Artwork’. Once you are in the main site use the drop-down menus or the side info bar to navigate between artworks and museums. Finally create and share your own collections online.

The Atlas database covers all the works exhibited in the museum - some 30,000 items.

Internet users, like museum visitors, will find the usual explanatory texts that accompany museum exhibits, compiled under the authority of the museum curators. New images are currently being added to the database, which is constantly updated.

The European Virtual Museum is the product of collaboration between twenty-seven European museums. The European Virtual Museum makes artifacts of European history available in interactive 3D form. Through the use of QuickTime technology the artifacts in the European Virtual Museum can be rotated for optimum viewing. Visitors to the European Virtual Museum can browse through the collections by chronology, geographic area, object type, contributing museum, routes, and tour itineraries
